Students with a Disability (HE and University)
> Students attending full and part-time higher education courses that are designated for student support may qualify for Disabled Student Allowances (DSAs).> Allowances are also available for full and part-time postgraduate students. For the first time, in 2002/2003, DSAs are available for all part-time courses of initial teacher training.
> These allowances are not income assessed. The DfES booklet Bridging the Gap provides further details. If you are a full-time undergraduate student you can ask to be considered for a DSA when you complete the student support application form HE1.
> There is a special form (which is available to download) for students who are attending part-time or postgraduate courses.
> The DfES booklet Financial support for higher education students - guide for 2002/2003 gives information on all aspects of student support.
