Young gig-lovers raise funds for Woking charities Young music fans experienced a live gig to raise funds for two Woking-based charities at the end of last month. Music enthusiasts benefitted from a line-up of 5 local bands during the night on Friday 26 February, with a chance to enjoy other entertainment such as Guitar Hero, and food. Woking Ypod staged the gig night, raising over £400 for Woking YMCA and Woking Hospice, the evening supported by the youth volunteering organisation Surrey vinvolved. David Chorlton, (22) a Surrey vinvolved youth volunteer said, "we hosted this night because we wanted young people to enjoy a great night, actively support 2 important charities. "In addition, there was also opportunity for them to find out about and get involved in other youth volunteering events in the local area."
