If you get into problems...

> If you can, get away from the situation - only fight if you really have to - someone is bound to end up getting hurt, and it'll probably be you.

> Try not to panic.

> Make as much noise as possible - yell at the top of your voice, giving a specific instruction like "phone the police!"

> A scream is better than nothing, it will regulate your breathing.

> Always give away your bag, purse or wallet rather than fighting - they can be replaced - you can't.

> Use a a phone and call 999. The operator will ask for name, address, emergency you require - give the information as clearly as you can and ask for the police.

> After you've contacted the emergency services call your family and let them know where you are.
