Bus Student Fare Card

BUS STUDENT FARE CARD

This card costs £5 and entitles the bearer to pay the same fare as under 16s.

>
To qualify for a Bus Student Fare Card, you must be:
> 16 to 18 years old*, and
> you must live in Surrey
> attending full-time education in Surrey.

*To apply you must be aged 16 but under 19 on 1 September in the year of application.
> The card is only valid for home to school/college journeys.
> The cost of the Bus Fare Card is £5.00 and is valid from the date of issue until the end of the following August.
> The card entitles the holder to buy single tickets at the under 16 rate.
> Return tickets and season tickets may also be available from some companies at a reduced rate for Student Fare Card holders. Please check with the bus company.

>
You will need to complete an application form.
> Send it with a photograph
> A cheque or postal order
> to the Passenger Transport Group by set deadlines to ensure collection from your school or college for the start of the new term.
> Check the dates on www.surreycc.gov.uk.

You must plan ahead to receive your card in time for the start of term.
To receive your card for the start of the Autumn term, your form must arrive before the end of July. If it arrives after term starts, you will not receive the card before October.
Between November and June, it takes just 15 working days to process.

To replace a BUS STUDENT FARE CARD:

> you can write to the Passenger Transport Group
> enclosing a new passport sized photo and
> a cheque for £5 payable to Surrey County Council.
> You do not need to complete a new application.
