Transport for post 16 young people with SEN

For students attending schools:
> it is Surrey County Council's policy to continue to provide transport for a student whose statement specifies a need for transport, and who is attending the nearest appropriate school.
> If the statement does not specify a need for transport, free transport will no longer be available.

For students attending colleges:
> it is Surrey County Council's policy to provide transport for a student who is attending the nearest appropriate college and who has previously been assessed as having a level of need which requires transport. If there is no previous assessed level of need, free transport will not be available.
> Students who do not qualify for free transport will be eligible to apply for a student 's fare card under the Local Education Authorities' post 16 travel scheme. Details of the scheme are available from the Transport Organiser.
